A couple of weeks ago Sebastian said that he got a simulator at home and that he would soon install and try it: “The truth is I didn’t have a simulator until a couple of days ago, so I haven’t been tempted because I didn’t have the chance. I have heard a lot of things about it, so I figured I should get one and try, but I still need to set it up properly.”
And he really did it! Last night, Sebastian made his e-sports debut, taking part at the Legends Trophy, in the opening round of the second All-Star Series season. Sebastian finished his first race in 15th place after a couple of incidents, before lining up seventh for the reverse-grid heat. He was up to fourth by Turn 1 courtesy of a multi-car crash involving Mika Salo, Liuzzi and Michel Jourdain right ahead of him, and briefly moved up to third, but spun going through the penultimate corner and dropped to the back. He recovered to an eventual 12th place.
We should expect to see more of Sebastian in the e-sports world, as he really enjoyed taking part last night! Added to that, Sebastian’s teammate Charles Leclerc revealed last night that Seb texted him to ask on which platform he is racing: “I am trying to get Seb… He just asked me on which platform I will be.”
